The Ekornhytta is located in the Rondane / Gudbrandsdalen and here right up in the quite flat Kvamsfjell at about 800 m altitude. This area is absolutely snow-sure in winter. A groomed trail runs directly behind your terrace and makes your dream of wonderful cross-country skiing hikes come true.

In summer you can walk to a romantic bathing area with changing facilities, toilets and a small barbecue area in 15 minutes on a beautiful mountain lake - the Arvillingen.

The Rondane mountain range towers majestically above everything and is just waiting to be discovered by you.

Start exploring Sukkertoppen (our local mountain) and enjoy the view of Rondane, Norway's oldest national park. From here you can see as far as Jotunheimen, where Norway's highest mountains are located. Everything just a stone's throw away!

Enjoy wonderful hikes, multi-day mountain tours from hut to hut, rafting adventures on the Sjoar (one of Norway's most famous whitewater rivers for this), cycling tours, fishing in the mountain lakes in Fjell or in Lagen (trout) and much more.

Or just sit on the terrace, watch the cute squirrels and read a good book. The backdrop for this is breathtakingly beautiful.

Maybe even a moose will come by 😊. You will definitely be able to observe free-roaming sheep, cows and horses.
